Brief
The classic Tetris game celebrates their 40 year anniversary in 2024. Created in 1984 from the imagination of computer programmer Alexey Pajitno, the puzzle game took the world by a storm for its addictive effect and mental stimulation. Today, billions of Tetris games are played online every year and over 520 million units have been sold worldwide. To commemorate the game’s global success and the memories that they have created throughout many childhoods, the Colin Birch window on 7th Ave will dedicate a temporary display for Tetris.

The window is illuminated with bright lights and the vibrant colors of classic retro Tetris blocks using led strip lights and photography gel filters. The giant illuminated 40 structure is constructed out of over 350 glued acrylic boxes, and is over 4 feet tall. A grid pattern made with stretched spandex and white string creates a false perspective of the blocks floating in the grid pattern of a classic retro game.
